Be One with Australia in Honouring ANZACs at Currumbin

The Centenary of ANZAC 2014-2018 marks an important period for ANZAC troops at Gallipoli, Turkey. It has been 101 years since Australia and New Zealand contributed to the First World War. This national holiday seeks to honour the dedication and service of our original ANZACs and their families, and the extraordinary courage of all men and women who have struggled to defend the values of the country.

In line with this, the organisers have come up with heaps of events and exhibitions that will pay tribute to the invaluable efforts of our heroes. The ANZAC Day Dawn Service will be held at Elephant Rock on April 25, 2016, Currumbin. This major Australian event to be hosted by our friends from Currumbin RSL.

The Dawn Service schedule starts at 3:30 AM, with th Park and Ride commencement. The parade assembly at Murraba Street, Currumbin Beach will start at 4:20 AM. Meanwhile, the Dawn Service commences at Elephant Rock, Currumbin Beach at exactly 5:00 AM.

Apart from this, you can look forward to other relevant events and fundraising activities, such as the Symbolic Sleep Out at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, which will be a symbolic gesture to the significance of Gallipoli; the Outdoor Photographic Exhibition along the foreshores of Currumbin with the ‘Camera on Gallipoli’ from the Australian War Memorial; Australia Remembers through Film, which will be a collection of stories and sentiments shared by Veterans and their families; among others.
